Migration Engagement

Move off the old host without a weekend of guessing.

What this tier is

Migrations go wrong at the boundaries: a DNS TTL nobody lowered, a database dump taken before the last order, a certificate that only existed on the old host. We work through those boundaries as an inventory before touching anything, and we rehearse the cutover on staging.

The engagement has a written scope with an explicit list of what is included and what is not. You get a rollback position documented before the cutover window opens, so the decision to abort is a decision rather than a panic.

What is included

  • Inventory of sites, applications, databases, mail, DNS, and certificates
  • Written migration plan with a cutover runbook and a rollback position
  • Rehearsal on staging infrastructure before the real cutover
  • Cutover executed in an agreed window, with verification checks
  • DNS TTL management before and after the move
  • Post-migration verification and a written completion report
  • Two weeks of post-cutover support included

Typical use cases

  • Leaving a hosting provider that is being acquired, degraded, or repriced
  • Consolidating infrastructure inherited from a departed contractor
  • Moving off a legacy server nobody is willing to reboot
  • Bringing a scattered estate onto one operator

Responsibility split

Written down so there is no argument about it later.

We handle

  • Inventory, planning, rehearsal, cutover, and verification
  • DNS, certificate, and mail authentication transitions
  • Data migration with a documented consistency point
  • The written completion report and post-cutover support

You handle

  • Access to the current provider, registrar, and any third-party services
  • Approving the cutover window and being reachable during it
  • Deciding what does not need to come with you

How provisioning works

Scheduled after a scoping conversation. The listed fee covers a typical single estate migration; anything materially larger is quoted before payment rather than invoiced afterwards. We will tell you if your migration is larger than this engagement covers.

Order

We use this for the invoice, provisioning updates, and account sign-in.

Sites, databases, mail, DNS, anything else.

Payment is handled by Stripe. We never see or store card details. Continuing means you accept the Terms, Acceptable Use Policy, and Privacy Policy.
